Trust the church, or trust the Bible?

Ask a Roman Catholic scholar and he will tell you Protestants are foolish to trust the Bible for authority. With varying levels of scorn he will taunt, “Who decided what would be in the Bible?” Then, directing us to early church history, he will explain, “The Biblical Canon was compiled by a council of the Roman Catholic Church.”

Let's give him that point.

But back off. Who sat in that meeting of church leaders when the Bible was compiled? Did men “write” the Bible? Or did God USE men to write and then compile the Bible? There is a difference. Now, decide. Would you rather follow men or God?

You can choose. Do you want to follow the “Word of God, authored by the imperfect men?” Or would you rather follow the God of Word, whose power used men to write and to compile the Bible?

There is a difference.
