What would that be like? It reminds me of the hairdressing profession. You have heard ladies say, "I need a permanent." Hmm. Wasn't that just three weeks ago that the lady said the same thing? What was permanent about that permanent? Well, then is eternity eternal or shorter? After all, if we are in time now, and somewhere there is a great quantity of experience that lasted forever before we were created, and then later there is going to be a great quantity of experience that also will last forever, that would mean there are two forevers in the Universal scheme of things. Not likely. Eternity would not be permanent. There is a lot of discussion about what happens when we die. One theory after another puts forward one possible scheme of things or another. The Bible has a lot to say about chronology, and we really do not know how much delay there will be in earthly terms between the time our flesh is left to decay in a casket and the earthly time we will be called into that one vast series of experiences we will join in Heavenly eternity. The simple point is that when we enter eternity we are in the forever NOW. Don't trust anybody who tries to explain the details. Just be comforted to know that in terms of your experience, the instant (as you experience instants) you die, you will be with the Lord in eternity, IF He is in you during earthly time. -- Richard Palmquist Send email to frontoffice@truthradio.com with questions or comments about this subject. |
